What is an anti-snap lock and do I need one?
Lock snapping is the most common forced-entry method on euro-cylinder doors: the cylinder is gripped and snapped, exposing the mechanism. Anti-snap cylinders (TS007-rated) have a sacrificial front section that breaks away while the lock stays secure. If your UPVC or composite door still has a standard cylinder, upgrading from £55 fitted is the single best security investment you can make.
How long does lock installation take?
A straightforward cylinder replacement takes 15–20 minutes. A mortice deadlock installation on a timber door typically takes 45–90 minutes including precise chiselling of the case and keep. Most home visits complete within the hour.
Will the new lock satisfy my home insurance?
Yes — we fit to the standards insurers specify: BS3621 for mortice locks on timber doors and TS007-rated cylinders for UPVC/composite doors, and we document the ratings on your invoice.
